Our key focus area is on range management and product selection to make sure that the category remains relevant to both retailer and customer. Working with other categories, we model and implement cross category promotions and look to work closely with Newspaper supplies to help capitalise on one of the top 5 forecourt shopper missions – Newspapers.
Park Garage Group is the UK’s seventh biggest forecourt retailer which operates 48 sites under the Park and Shop fascia. Founded in 1975 it is currently headed up by brothers Sunil and Balraj Tandon. The company has a fairly even spread of fuel brands and the forecourt convenience offering under the Park and Shop fascia is well established and efficiently run by commission operators to provide customers with the best service and facilities including Seattle’s Best Coffee & Washtec.
Shell UK operate over 500 company owned, franchised operated sites. Across the estate they welcome 3 million customers every week and are implementing an aggressive rollout plan across their estate to improve their convenience retailing offer. Partnering with Booker & Waitrose has seen the roll out of Budgens and Little Waitrose brands, whilst they have heavily invested in their own Deli 2 Go brand revamping their food to go offer with Jamie Oliver. One-in-three transactions at their forecourts is for drinks, snacks or groceries and does not include fuel.
MFG is the largest independent forecourt operator in the UK with around 900 stations operating under the BP, Shell, Esso, Texaco, JET and Murco fuel brands. Their objective is to make visiting an MFG site as enjoyable as possible whilst offering high levels of service; good quality, competitively priced fuels, an exceptional product range and ‘food to go’ offer from top name brands, ongoing value promotions and a shopping environment to match any of the multiples
Ascona Group provides high quality and high-value products and services to motorists and local communities. Ascona currently operate over 30 sites across the UK with an average footfall of 200,000 customers per week.
They are highly regarded in both the forecourt and retail communities for their innovative approach to retailing having won Retailer Of The year in 2013 and Best Forecourt in 2017.
Whilst only a small estate currently they have aspirations to grow to 50 sites within the next 12 months and beyond that over the next 3 years.
SGN Retail Ltd are a new entrant to the Forecourt retail market. Incorporated following the merger between MRH & MFG, SGN Retail limited picked up a number of sites that had to be excluded from the merger. Managed and lead by Graham Peacock, previously of MRH, they have a wealth of experience with forecourt retailing. Currently operating an estate of 50 sites, they have aspirations to grow over coming years and are already recognised in the top 10 of UK Forecourt Retailers.
